Homework News

Thank you for your cooperation this year for turning in homework.  May's homework was due the 13th, and the "Trip down Memory Lane" sheets turned out great!  They have been laminated, and hung on our outside classroom wall.  Your child will have it returned by the 24th.

April homework and reading logs were due Thursday, April 28th.  Your student's last homework packet of the year will be distributed Monday, May 2nd and due Friday, May 13th so I can input grades in time for the end of the year.  There will be no reading log this month, and a shorten packet.  Thanks again to all of you for returning your homework on time.

Thank you to parents and students for remembering to complete the monthly homework packet and reading log.  Some students have turned April's homework and logs in early.  Homework is due Thursday, April 28th.  :)

I hope everyone received the corrected March homework packet.  There were corrections needed to be made (some of you found them).  Homework is due Friday, March 25th.  The Reading Log is due when your kiddo returns in April.  Thanks for your understanding and patience.

Homework went home Friday, February 4th along with Conference sign-up information.  The conference sign-up sheets are outside the classroom door.  Homework is due February 28th.

Look for February homework on the 1st!  Thanks again for submitting your child's homework by the end of the month.

Remember January homework packet is due Monday the 31st.  If your child has completed that packet, they can return it to the green or purple bin earlier.    Please keep an eye on any other work that may come home in addition to the packet, such as a math worksheet on the "100th Day of School", science or social studies work.   Thank you for your patience while we try something different for homework this month.

I will be giving homework the beginning of the month in a packet form. You can have your child complete it at their leisure. Just return it by the end of the month. I know the initial letter said to return it each week, and it would be returned on Monday to begin the next week's assignments. I did look at each student's homework when it was returned last week, but returned their folders to them. Sorry for the confusion.

Please remember that a math sheet goes with the writing and language arts homework.  Sometimes there maybe a science and/or social studies work.  Make sure your child signs his/her own name as well.  And, homework is due by the end of the week.  As a reminder, please read and have your child read to you each night.

Don't forget parents to check-out the Parent Portal on Bromley East's website.  If you do not have a user id and password, please visit the school's main office, and bring identification.

After speaking with many parents, I found that they want more challenging or more homework sent home. I also found that parents like the whole week to complete the homework due to family and outside school events.

Homework will still be sent home on Mondays, but include language arts, writing, math, social studies and/or science work. Homework will be due on Fridays.

Just a reminder that your child should be writing his/her own name on their work. This is an important task they need to learn now. I have many parents writing their child's names or there are no names on homework. Please remind your child to write their names.

Thank you.
